This blog is about me and my ongoing adventure in the nation of Vietnam.
Here’s a brief bio of my life:
- Born in Ohio
- At the age of four, my parents joined a voluntary service organization and we went off to live in Saskatchewan, Canada.
- At the age of nine, while my parents were still working with the same organization, we moved to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
- At the age of 15, my family moved back to Ohio.
- When I was 18 I was off to college at a small, liberal arts school in Ohio.
- At the age of 21, I moved to work as an English teacher in Long Xuyen, Vietnam with the same organization that my parents worked for when I was young.
- When I was 24 I moved back to Ohio for a 9-month stint as a reporter.
- At the age of 25 I came back to Vietnam to work, and I’ve been here ever since.

I too have an interest in pre-75 music in Vietnam. I was a US soldier and civilian advisor there from 1968~73. I am a close friend of CBC Band and recently attended a reunion in Houston with CBC and some old Vietnam veteran fans of theirs. Here’s a Fox TV News report on it:

BTW, I am an English teacher in Bangkok, Thailand, and frequently visit Vietnam.
