Things That Make Me Feel Old

  • I remember gas being less than a dollar a gallon.
  • I didn’t use Wikipedia, Gmail or Facebook in college.
  • I hated my first cell phone and never carried it with me.
  • The first computer my family owned was a 386.
  • The first time I heard Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks and the Beatles Abby Road was on LP.
  • I used to make mix tapes (cassettes!).
  • Dialup and modems: unnecessarily noisy and slow.
  • I have always preferred and will continue to prefer books over any electronic reading form.
  • My first day at college was a Monday and I’d never given terrorism a second thought, that changed on Tuesday.
  • I used to drive a truck with a V8 engine.
  • Driving a motorbike in Vietnam was more fun before the mandatory helmet law.
  • I sent my first text message after I graduated from college.

(to be updated as thoughts come to me)
